Happy New Year!
It is time to begin again. After sending out my first 2021 monthly Mind Body Balance newsletter this morning, I had this incredible feeling it was time to start sharing more on my blog. It has been way too long since my last blog post.
With so much going on this past year, my focus was to serve my clients, maintain my business of over 20 years and take care of my family. The one missing link was, I was not taking GOOD care of myself along the way. I may have been thinking I was, but all of my old habits kept me going at full speed and that was actually a good thing, until it no longer served me and my physical body. Long story short, I developed 2 rather large Kidney Stones in my left kidney in August and for the next 3 months, I began to experience many symptoms that finally led me to having 2 separate surgeries, one to biopsy my stones and then to remove those suckers and have the stones analyzed.
It was a painful journey that gave me an opportunity to practice what I teach, breathing and mindful meditation. I share this with you because we have the power to help ourselves when we are in need. Our breath is our life force and it is always with us. I had no choice but to breathe and allow it all to be what it was at the time. I had faith I was going to feel better and trust that my doctor, my family and my dear friends would take good care of me. My anxiety and panic would come and go, but the truth is, I knew I would be ok. That was my inner guidance, my heart leading me and so I surrendered and I let go and learned something along the way. I have the power to make a choice. I allowed my family to take care of me. My friends and clients were extremely supportive. I gave myself full permission to REST! That is something that my physical, mental and emotional body needed. When we begin to understand what our needs are, we can take good care of ourselves. I teach my clients that when you take good care of yourself you can sustain the energy to help others. Thankfully I am now fully recovered and I understand so much more about what my body needs.
My nutritional habits have changed as well as my workouts. I workout smarter not harder. I am leaning into what truly nourishes me, I love my food! I am working with amazing clients that are on a path to their own health and well-being. When we let go of old habits that don’t serve our highest good anymore, we make room for new and exciting energy!
Let us all begin again in 2021. No restrictions, just flow… Do what lights you up, makes you feel good. I know that my heart leads me and for that I am truly grateful. Living my most authentic life from the inside out has always been my go to. Being mindful is a practice, it is a daily blessing that I get to choose when I wake up in the morning.
